I'm disgusted with all the people who voted for Obama in 2008 who are now so wrapped up in the post-Bush detritus that they've forgotten the reality that this President stepped into.
The Democrats always bring together far more disparate segments of American citizens than the GOP, and thus are always far more likely to have a much harder time achieving consensus on anything.
The traditional print and broadcast news media are hemorrhaging ad revenue trying to adjust to the digital age. Hence the sweeping return to the old Hearst business methods - stir up a non-story into a controversial frenzy (the "Ground Zero mosque") all for keeping profits moving along. Never mind the very real and dangerous damage.
Today's news included the story that TARP will cost far less than anticipated, and that most of it's been repaid already. Who is talking about that? Who is talking about coverage now for pre-existing conditions for all children? Who is talking about the Koch brothers massive funding of the Tea Party and right wing agendas to protect their own business interests - yet their philanthropy gets them their name affixed to the home of NYC Ballet and City Opera at Lincoln Center - which like all arts centers and museums are forced to accept money from known devils just to stay afloat? Who is talking about how America's international diplomatic standing has regained its footing since the cowboy mouth approach of Bush and Cheney was finally abandoned? Who is talking about the fact that Bush and Cheney's Iraq misadventure - valued at well over one trillion taxpayer dollars and counting - is almost certainly the principle reason for the financial mess we're all in?
Obama is not FDR, so let's get off of that horse, fellow Democrats and progressives - and proud Liberals (choose your euphemism). The only thing that matters is that we have a team in place who DOES understand the realities involved in moving away from the morass and stasis set in place by the Bush administrations and the current Republican opposition towards restoring a semblance of the country we want to raise our children in.
This is the virtually the same Republican game plan that has been in place since Nixon was able to take advantage after RFK's assassination. After JFK was killed, Johnson maintained Kennedy's domestic agenda - in fact he enhanced it. But after RFK was gone and the Humphrey secured the nomination but lost by a whisker to Nixon, the Republican Party played the "let's take back our country" game (from the evil free-spirited forces let loose in the 1960's - in the arts, science, space exploration, fashion, sexual mores, more freedom of expression in the press, women's rights, civil rights, environmentalism, etc.) Watch the movie "Joe" from 1970 (directed by John Avildson, starring Peter Boyle), and then go listen to Carl Paladino and Christine O'Donnell.

One of the best, most lucid and well written American history books I have ever read. This is not merely history, it is the story of much of the creation of the American nation as it entered into a long, horrid conflict with the native peoples. Reading this, you will come to understand the battles between Indians and whites with more clarity than ever before. Personalities come alive and vivid writing carries you through. Out in quality paperback now.
