Is it really a surprise that many Americans who fly don’t like being treated like criminals at the airports? The TSA takes the position that anything they say is needed is, therefore, required, so shut up about and bend over (or whatever they come up with next). This controversy exploded into a major national news item for about a week in November of 2010 when calls were made to boycott flying and to insist on a patdown instead of the x-ray machines.

Well, the airline pilots, and later the attendants, got out of the controversy fast by getting excused from these procedures, leaving the traveling public without what could have been their strongest allies in the fight against intrusions on personal space and dignity. At the left are buttons with essays and breaking news about the controversy filed at the time of the major flapdoole. This problem, however, will be back on the national agenda, many times in the future.

One of the best, most lucid and well written American history books I have ever read. This is not merely history, it is the story of much of the creation of the American nation as it entered into a long, horrid conflict with the native peoples. Reading this, you will come to understand the battles between Indians and whites with more clarity than ever before. Personalities come alive and vivid writing carries you through. Out in quality paperback now.
