		The start



	The horses round the final turn and try to position for the stretch. Shackelford did not have a clear lead, but was positioned well.


	Entering the home stretch, it is still any horse’s race Shckelford has the strong position on fhe outside with the derby winner, Animal Kingdom, coming up on the far outside. The two battled down the entire stretch, but Shackelford held his lead and then built it longer just before the line.


	Shackelford enters the home stretch looking like a winner. He was.


	Shackelford established a clear lead on the stretch, but got a strong challenge from Animal Kingdom. Shackelford answered.
