is a third year student at the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia. (Not Penn State, that’s in the middle of Pa.) He was born in New York City where he has lived most of his life, save three years (ages 5-8) when his family lived in Minnesota. There, he learned to play in snow, watch ice fishing and developed a short lived, upper mid-west accent. At Penn, he’s majoring in politics, philosophy and economics (combined major) and a minor in something called consumer psychology.
Malcolm is scheduled to graduate in the spring, 2011, and he’ll be out looking for a job with a marketing firm. He wants to put some time in working before heading off to law school, which would make him part of a group of lawyers in his family. (His brother is a lawyer in DC, his sister-in-law is also a lawyer in government and he has a cousin studying now in his first year at a rather well known law school in Boston.) There will soon be enough lawyers for a good size, family firm. Malcolm wants to pursue law with a spirit of public service in mind.
His interests include traveling (the picture at the right was taken late last summer in Gstaad, Switzerland) and lots of tennis. He’s highly competitive when given the chance, but not in a mean way. He likes to win by doing better himself and enjoying the experience.
Immediate plans for the future: “This summer I'll be visiting my dad's family in London, celebrating my grandmothers 95th birthday!”
Malcolm Halle, part of a rising generation ready to work hard and make a contribution to the world.
